New Word: "marten"

Marten. That's a carnivorous animals about the size of a cat. In Europe, martens habitually get into the warm engine and gnaw up the tubes.
I got a call from the garage where I left Smørebrød, and they finally found the source of the coolant leakage. Martens gnawed into the coolant tubing, and killed two tubes. Each - guess - at the special discount price of almost fifty bucks; original Volvo™ price.

"I love the scent of burning napalm in the morning..."

Together with replacing the rear brakes, this adds up to 600€. Oh, not to forget the 120€ for the broken Domlager from last month...

(So, I'm open for suggestions. So far, I've collected garlic, toilet cleaner, dog hair, and grenades. Any other ideas?)

Another option would be a high-voltage generator which keeps metallic car parts near the engine under... well... high voltage. Not enough to grill the marten, but still. Thanks to Marian for this recommendation.
